I've in a recent conversation on Voxer with the ConnectedTL community talking about all things podcasting. This got me to want to write about one of the great ways to share wisdom you find while listen to a podcast with others who may be a little reluctant about listening.
OK.... Here's the steps.
Step 1) Open up the app PocketCasts (you may be able to use other podcast apps but seriously, right now this is THE app you should use)
Step 2) Pick a podcast to listen to. Here I'm choosing EdSurge On Air #56 with Mary Jo & Blake
Step 3) Swipe left to access the SHOW NOTES. Then click on the Share Icon.
Step 4) Here is what's super cool with this Share feature: You can share the Podcast, Episode or my favorite "Position in Episode". What this does is it creates a specific URL which you can send to anyone.
Step 5) Now you can share this in different ways. I am an Android user and you can see I can share this via many different tools. My favorite way to share is simply the Copy To Clipboard. After it is copied I can do what is wish the link. For example, I am a podcast junkie but I realize that many of my colleagues are not. I do though would like to have some of them hear some parts of a podcast. So, by pausing a podcast right where I want my colleague to hear it, then grab that link, I can pass it on to them (usually via an email) and tell them something like "hey I heard this really interesting conversation about how the helping teachers should not be FIXING teachers but UNLEASHING THEIR POTENTIAL and supporting them"
Step 6) What my colleague will receive is my note to them and the link. This link will look like what I have below. It will take them DIRECTLY to the part where I paused that episode and they just hit the play button. Now this works on ANY device! That is so slick! Thanks PocketCasts! So if they open it on their phone or back at their desks they will go right to that point.
