My "force myself to write and be creative" Blog

8 Student Blogs to Check Out

4/19/2016

Only 8? Yes, there are SO MANY MORE on the web to check out, but I wanted to share just a few examples.  I stumbled upon these interesting student blogs while I've been working on a Student Blogging lesson for middle school age students in my district. Although kids often think of "blogging" as outdated and something adults do, the ideas of having students write, reflect, post and give comments, is something which they will use on most every social media platform they encounter.

In this process of working on student blog ideas, David Theriault's work on blogging was a huge help. This is a resource you NEED TO DIVE INTO if you are even remotely interested in having your students write on their own.  This goes through the process of setting up your blogging platform, tips for students and a list of all his high school student blogs themselves. Here is his blog post SHOP TALK: THE NUTS AND BOLTS OF STUDENT BLOGGING.

OK. Now on to the student blogs!

Such intellectual and informative blogs, after reading I realized the potential of the students is very much high. After this, my expectations are pretty high and assuming next time when I visit the website, might get a chance to explore some more blogs with great knowledge and skills.

College years are great but you shouldn’t forget about your future too (and the earlier you start planning it, the better it will be for you). This blog was started by a college graduate who found herself in a very unpleasant financial situation after she finished college. She wanted to change that and to prevent others from following in her footsteps. That’s why she offers a lot of financial lessons and budget planning advice, which are not only very useful but also fun and interesting to read. If you want to manage your finances more effectively, you should definitely check out this blog.
