My Year By The Numbers

5/26/2016

As the school year comes to a close, I wanted to spend some time reflecting on what I have done and what I’ve been part of. I began looking at all the ways I shared and communicated from emails, tweets, blogs and podcasts. Once I looked at how many tweets I had two thoughts;
1) I am on Twitter way too much!
2) Let me try tell my story of my year in numbers.

So, I took all those numbers and started putting them in one infographic and this is what I came up with:

Then my deputy superintendent and I had a conversation about kind of the same thing. Her question was “let’s try to document what you’ve done this year”. So, that got me thinking, “let me try to recreate this in a Google Drawing template so others can try to make their own”. And that is what you have here:

Here is the link to this Google Drawing Template.

Remember, you can do a FILE - MAKE A COPY to have your own version of this and then you change it to all the things you have done.

Side note: try using the site The Noun Project to find icons for your infographic

So, here’s a request: Create your own By The Numbers and share it out with the hashtag #ednumbers so we call can share!

Here’s a quick tip to find out how many tweets you’ve written. Go to Twitter, Click on your icon and choose ANALYTICS. Then you will see a breakdown by month. I just added all mine from August through now.

You can see below an example of one of my months.

I am also using this with my students for an end of school project on top things to know about Mrs. vKay, which I will then print and have out for students to see at the beginning of next year.

Hmm it appears like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips and hints for novice blog writers? I'd genuinely appreciate it. small business web design

The benefit of going with a 10, volume developer is less processing of hair, that has already been chemically processed.

Start with information (available online) about products that you and all your friends use. Then, look inside yourself and decide what risk level you are comfortable with.

Hi, I think your website might be having browser compatibility issues. When I look at your blog site in Ie, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, wonderful blog!

An fascinating discussion is worth comment. I feel that it's best to write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject however generally individuals are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers

Excellent site you have here but I was curious if you knew of any forums that cover the same topics discussed here? I'd really like to be a part of online community where I can get comments from other knowledgeable individuals that share the same interest.
